Sept. 21, 2012 International Day of Peace

[EDITOR’S NOTE:   AWESOME PICTURES TO FOLLOW ONCE OUR “PEACE” DISPLAY IS COMPLETE! 🙂 ]

Here is another Sept. 21st blogpost, specifically dedicated to our how our 5/6 class led the school in a Literacy activity for the International Day of Peace!

First Holly and Victoria made an announcement during morning announcements. We handed out white peace doves to all the primary and junior classes in the school. Teachers had their students complete the thought, “I feel peaceful when…..” on a white dove. Older students wrote longer reflections. Our class had a great time visiting Mrs. Panju, Mrs. Crocker and Mrs. Booysen’s ELP2 (Early Learning Program, what was called a kindergarden before). We will collect, cut out and display the school doves in the hallways next week.

  1. What a great way to get the whole school thinking about peace! I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures.
