Jan. 13-21/2014 – Little Mermaid Musical, First Nation Peoples, Drama, Changes in Matter

Be sure to visit the Rousseau Music blog for updates on our upcoming school musical production of “The Little Mermaid”! Our casting was posted just today – it was tricky for us to cast so many talented singers/actors/dancers but the resulting cast is stellar and everyone is to be congratulated! I am so proud of all the students in our class who will be performing alongside the entire 75-member Rousseau cast!

Fri., Jan. 10/2014 – Our trip to Woodland Cultural Centre to learn about Iroquois/Haudenosaunee/Six Nations History & Culture

We had a fantastic time on Friday at the Woodland Cultural Centre in Brantford, ON. Please read more here and view pictures of our day. Be sure to click “Read next page” to see all the pictures! Grade 5 & 6 students participated in Dance & Music, Traditional Games, a session regarding Stereotypes & Racism, and had an excellent tour of their extensive Museum. Wow!! The post below includes photos and videos of our participation. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who made this trip possible, and to Mr. Greenway for arranging the visit!

Jan. 6, 2014 – HAPPY NEW YEAR! (+ literacy, drama, math, GRATITUDE)

Happy New Year, everyone! Today, I practised my ONE new year’s resolution: to correctly write 2014 on the board instead of 2013 🙂 It was a success!

We had a productive instructional day. In addition to math, social studies/literacy and drama today, we practised a little

GRATITUDE!!!

Check out our great poster on our door 🙂  and see our day in pics & tweets below.
