Day 29 & 30 – Oct. 31, 2017 and Nov. 1, 2017

Our current pieces of writing are as follows:

  • Descriptive Paragraph (FOCUS: word choice & vocabulary)
  • Indigenous People on the Prairies essay (FOCUS: organization & transitions between paragraphs)

We also enjoyed some long overdue independent reading this morning 🙂

We had a fabulous trip to hear music by the National Academy Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Boris Brott at the First Ontario concert Hall (“Hamilton Place”)!! All students in grades 4-6 represented the school well! We enjoyed music by Stravinsky & Beethoven….John Williams’ Imperial March from Star Wars (complete with Darth vader conducting from the podium), as well as modern classics by Lady Gaga, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and Guns ‘N Roses. The concert also featured specials guests BRExpression (huge choir from Bishop Ryan Secondary School in Hamilton, with student soloists).

HALLOWE’EN – Oct. 31/2017

Yesterday was a blast! We worked on creative, descriptive writing with a Hallowe’en theme…we planned an excellent playlist for the Grade 4/5/6 dance…we enjoyed a dance in the gym & a party in the classroom. Thanks to families for sending in treats for our party 🙂
