April 3, 2018 – Biodiversity, 3D isometric drawings

LITERACY – Science

We I ntroduced our biodiversity unit with a video from Bill Nye. A Jenga game or a game of Pickup Stix was used as a metaphor for biodiversity. All students have homework tonight – to reflect on today’s discussion.

MATH

We previously practiced drawings of 3-D irregular shapes on isometric dot paper.

Today Ms Fawcett put this picture of an irregular shape on the SmartBoard and we drew it on paper independently.  To follow up we used the iPad as a document camera and Ms Fawcett demonstrated how to do the 3D drawing. We also learned how to draw the  top view, side view , and front view on grid paper
